Vintage rotary telephones are way easier to use than iPhone, undeniable truth and fact. But the convenience of a fancy smartphone GUI has rendered youngsters totally dumb and blindfolded. They are in no possession of common consent. Sad and depressing.

I remember my family getting their first phone, when I was a kid. And how exciting it was to pick up the receiver and hear the dial tone. I remember the clickety click sound as you dialed the numbers, and you could dial operator in an emergency or to ask assistance in reaching a phone number. I miss that. Then there were the pay phones. The sounds of coins going down into the phone is a fond memory.

This is low level softball and the umps don't have replay. You're going to err on the side of the batter. It was a fairly inside pitch, and despite how the video looks, when you're up to bat you don't always have the ability to move the back leg exactly how you want, depending on how your weight is. She could have been trying to push her leg forward so that the ball went between her legs. This just isn't worth arguing.

What's the controversy here? The umpire called it correctly. Just what sort of magic movement was she expected to make to get out of the way of that pitch? The only controversy would have been if the umpire had said she let herself get hit intentionally.

It's so sad to see these youngsters didn't even know how to use the rotary phone properly, as a side note to myself who used a rotary phone before. I was born in 2000 and I taught myself how to use a rotary phone back in March, all you have to do is pick up the receiver and use the finger to turn the dial to the assigned number and release it when you hit the stopper, is that simple, not form of rocket science. I even taught my little sister how to use the rotary phone, it took her at least 3 times to get used to the satisfaction of dialing a number with a rotary phone, when the third times a charm, she done it, because I taught her the right way of dialing with a rotary phone. EXCELLENT VIDEO!! I cannot understate how overjoyed I am to see the legacy of Channel 19 flourish after my departure. I remember when Mr. Farr first introduced me to Mr. K at a time where I didn't any idea of where I was going in life. From there Mr. K let me explore and I found a love to fix the issues with the older analog equipment to the shooting and production of video from live broadcast sports and in school events. When the pandemic hit things started to dwindle a bit. But this let us make big changes behind the scenes, with a big grant for all new equipment, and a helping hand from Paul Mays we got to work making the transition to digital. I knew this would solidify Channel 19 to get back in the game. And I had to do everything I could to make Channel 19 look super professional to drive intrest for the next generation of Tech Crew. And I'm so glad it paid off! The 2023-2024 Tech Crew did an amazing job and I cant wait to see what amazing things each and every one of you do!

None of them is dumb--just ignorant about a tech they have never encountered. At least most realized that the circular part has to move. I'd enjoy seeingtheir response to watching what happens at the switching center as each number is dialed.

Ok I don’t know how old these students are but I’m 9 years old and I know how to use a rotary dial ngl i’m being serious. You put you finger in the hole of the number and you spin it to the stop which is that stick on the phone.

I wasn't alive for this, but I think it's very touching to see this relic of that day. It feels like a very human video.
